Seventeen-year-old student of a prestigious American school Rachel Anne Hachero has been arrested on suspicion of extorting money from her mother forcing her to by a new sport car.

The incident took place in Fort Myers, Florida last week. When coming home, an honour student at the exclusive Canterbury School pointed a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun at her mother’s head and demanded to buy a new Nissan 350Z for her. Threatening by a reprisal, the student forced her mother to drive to the automobile sales center. With the gun in her purse, the girl made mother draw all the necessary documents for the purchase. The mother waited until Rachel left for school the next day, then she searched her purse. Not only did she find the gun, she also discovered drugs after which she called 911.

Hachero’s mother decided she didn’t want to press charges against her daughter for fear of damaging her college prospects. Deputies arrested Rachel, anyway. She’s now locked up in the Lee County Juvenile Assessment Center. It is reported that the gun is turned out to be stolen from a Lee County Port Authority worker’s home last summer.
