The incident took place in the USA with the owner of Chevrolet Cruze 2011. GM started to recall the cars immediately.

The car was tooling down the highway at 100 km per hour, when its steering wheel fell off the steering column suddenly. The driver managed to slow down, but the car was swerved and struck against a fence. The car owner’s wife, mother and one-and-a-half-year-old son being in the car at the time of collision were not damaged.

In the issue General Motors announced about the withdrawal of 2.1 thousand American Chevrolet Cruze 2011 cars immediately. A manufacturing defect admitted during factory installation is considered to be the reason of the wheel falling off.
