World Car of the Year has announced best vehicle of the year 2011. It is Nissan Leaf electric car of Japanese production entitled as Automobile of the Year. The contest results were announced on the automobile show in NYC. 39 cars were competing for the first place. The following makes managed to be the finalists: BMW 5 Series, Audi A8, as well as Nissan Leaf.

Aston Martin Rapide car was mentioned as one of the best design leaving behind Ferrari 458 Italia and Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Last year first place winner was Chevrolet Camaro.
