The 10 most dangerous foods to eat while driving 15.03.2012

The bad habit of munching while navigating traffic can lead to an average increase of most accidents associated with this behavior. In general 80% percent of crashes and 65% of near-crashes involve driver distraction.

Taking into consideration this causality, Cleveland insurance company drew up a list of 10 most dangerous foods and drinks to eat while driving which lead to car crashes:

 

1. Coffee - Obviously coffee is the number one item that people will be consuming in their rides next to another drink. The fact that you can never seem to get the lid of coffee mug quite right results in spilling it all over your legs when colliding with an obstruction on road.

2. Hot soup - In the same way as drinking coffee.

3. Tacos - The entire hard shell taco may fall apart and create a messy pile in the wrapper, as well as in a car cabin. 

4. Chili - A huge chance of leaking sauce and making yourself dirty.

5. Hamburgers - A big problem here is the grease which can get on your grubby hands and transfer over to the steering wheel that will slip through your fingers.

6. Barbecued food - Again… another weird one, when you yield to the temptation of licking your fingers which can be easily slid down the steering wheel.

7. Fried chicken - Another problem with grease on the fingers.

8. Jelly or cream - filled donuts. A very risky ones – the filling may be poured out.

9. Soft drinks - It strikes your nostrils. Besides, the lid may be leaked.

10. Chocolate - Soiling your hands with a bar of chocolate it makes easier to muck the steering wheel up which is every minute ready to be slipped out.
