Hyundai i30 Connectivity concept offers to replace car keys with smartphones 23.01.2013

Hyundai has unveiled their i30 Connectivity concept in Germany.

Designed to showcase the company's technical prowess, the i30 is equipped with an advanced smartphone integration system. Thanks to NFC (Near Field Communication) tags, drivers can lock or unlock the car by simply placing their phone over a tag on the window.

Once inside, drivers can put their phone on a pad in the center console. This instantly streams the phone's contents - music, navigation information, contacts, etc - to the car's 7-inch display. It also recharges the phone wirelessly and can be setup to accommodate several users.

The i30 Connectivity concept isn't slated for production, Hyundai expects to offer some of the technologies as early as 2015.
