Dani Pedrosa secured a superb second race win of his 2013 MotoGP campaign at the Monster Energy Grand Prix De France in Le Mans that was badly affected by rain. As a result the Repsol Honda rider was followed home by Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Cal Crutchlow who showed steely determination to grab second place while the race-winner’s teammate Marc Marquez sealed the third and final place on the podium despite being way off the pace early on.
Jorge Lorenzo from Yamaha team was down in a disappointing seventh. Lorenzo remains third in the championship but the gap between himself and leader Pedrosa has increased to 17 points.
Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi finished 12th after skidding out on a curve with 11 laps remaining.
